Erik Johnson is a freelance illustrator living in Midland.

After graduating from the Columbus College of Art and Design with a degree in illustration and art history he has produced illustrations for clients such as Bolger & Battle, The Salvation Army and Nickelodeon Studios.

In 2015 he began drawing caricatures for Kaman’s Art Shoppes, a national supplier of artists to amusement parks around the country. Locations he has worked at have included Cedar Point, King’s Dominion, Busch Gardens and the Toledo Zoo. He is the five-time recipient of Kaman’s Elite Sales Award and in 2017 he broke the record for most caricatures sold in a single day at Cedar Point.

He continues drawing caricatures in the Mid Michigan area for commissions, parties and fundraising events.

“As an artist my job is to recognize and reflect the beauty that God has put into creation. I work to spread that joy of being made in God's image through drawings of figures and faces.”
